Alain Rouveure's knowledge and passion for the Himalayan
Traditions have grown since his first visit in 1979.
A very keen collector, his personal acquisitions are very impressive.
His interest is in extraordinary items from everyday life like
ancient Masks (over 300, and still adding, making it one of
the largest collections in private ownership), antique textiles from Nepal,
Tibet and Bhutan which include extraordinary ancient Costumes
and Dresses from Lamas, Witch-doctors and Faith-Healers
with a whole range of working tools and Ritual Artifacts like Drums and Phurpas.
Part of his collection of Shaman's dresses was on show in 2011
at an important exhibition at Espace Durand-Dessert in Paris
